4th of July in Port Angeles and fireworks are back with the largest celebration ever! Pick your festival favorite events or attend all. Here’s a list of the fourth of July events happening in Port Angeles:
11:00 AM: Deliver your homemade apple pies next to the judges for a chance to win the Apple Pie Baking Contest. Drop your pies off at the Port Angeles Wharf, next to the Port Angeles Visitor Center.
11:00 AM: Compete in the Corndogs and Cornhole Tournament at Pebble Beach Park on the waterfront. Pre-registration is recommended (cost is $25 per team) Watch the action at 12pm and enjoy the Lefties Beer Garden.
12:00 PM: Take the kids to the Kids Zone with tons of free activities for the family from noon to 5pm at Gateway Center (corner of Front St. and Lincoln St.) in downtown.
1:00-2:00 PM: Hot Dog Eating Contest courtesy of the Red Lion Hotel. Register 30 minutes before the contest begins!
3:00-5:00 PM: Check out the Lawnmower Derby in downtown Port Angeles at 121 W Front Street. The Lawnmower Derby will last two hours and will consist of two or more qualifying heats and final heat.
6:00 PM: 4th of July Parade courtesy of Kitsap Bank. Watch the floats and cheer them on as they make their way throughout downtown Port Angeles.
8:00 PM: A Beatles Tribute Concert by Abbey Road Live! will play at 121 W Front Street until the fireworks show starts.
10:15 PM Fireworks Show: The annual fireworks show will begin, accompanied by music played on local radio station KONP, and will be visible throughout much of the City. For the best “fireworks seat” in the house, nab a spot in downtown Port Angeles. You can also see them throughout the City from practically everywhere. Thank you, Astound Broadband, for treating us to a spectacular fireworks display over the City of Port Angeles.
