The City of Port Angeles has announced that applications are open for the 2025 Lodging Tax Grant. The grant is available to qualified organizations seeking to promote tourism and improve the visitor experience in Port Angeles.

The Lodging Tax Fund, which is supported by taxes collected from visitors staying in local accommodations, serves as the main source of city funding for projects and activities aimed at increasing tourism. Each year, the city’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee manages a process to collect and review proposals for funding. Recommendations are then made to the City Council for final consideration.

Eligible applicants include public and non-profit agencies able to demonstrate their ability to meet several outlined tourism goals. These goals include maintaining a healthy tourism sector, promoting creative uses of existing facilities, improving the experience for both tourists and residents while minimizing negative impacts, encouraging partnerships based on community priorities, highlighting Port Angeles’ unique assets for sustainable recreation and tourism, and fostering collaboration across Olympic Peninsula communities.

Applicants must review the Request for Proposal (RFP) and submit their completed 2026 Lodging Tax Grant Application by 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee plans to review submitted proposals on November 12, 2025.

Further information about the committee, fund details, or application process can be obtained by contacting Grant Administrator Courtney Bornsworth at ced@cityofpa.us or visiting www.cityofpa.us/LodgingTaxFund.
