Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for 2022-2023 Public Service Grant Application and Closeout of 2021-2022 Public Services Grant

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing is scheduled by the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners for MONDAY, March 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers, County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (NOTE: This is a virtual hearing, No In-Person Attendance Allowed per Jefferson County Resolution No. 45-21). If we are able to add an in-person component to this meeting, the final agenda for the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting for March 28, 2022 will reflect that. Notice of said hearing is to be published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County. 

 This hearing is to inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in Jefferson County and to review community development and housing needs. $109,240 is proposed to be available annually to Jefferson County and the Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) to fund public service that principally benefit low and moderate income persons. The BOCC is interested in hearing public testimony on this issue.

 In addition, written testimony is also invited beginning on March 14, 2022 and ending on March 28, 2022 at the end of the Public Hearing, unless extended by the Board of County Commissioners. Written public testimony may be submitted by Email to: jeffbocc@co.jefferson.wa.us; or by Mail to: Jefferson County Commissioners’ Office; PO Box 1220, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Testimony must be received by the Board of County Commissioners by the end of the hearing public comment period.
