A multiracial family’s camping trip in Washington state ended with becoming victims of harassment from locals who insisted the family was a group of Antifa protesters, according to the Hill.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s office told the Hill the family came from Spokane on a school bus and planned on camping near Forks.
But the family's trip went left at Forks Outfitters when they were halted by several carloads of people at a grocery store, the Hill reported. These people kept asking if the family were "ANTIFA" protesters.
While the family was able to leave the parking lot, after having to drive around several vehicles, four vehicles continued to follow them. Some of the passengers appeared to have semiautomatic rifles.
Ultimately, the family pulled off the road and pitched a tent to camp overnight. But they left after hearing gunshots and power saws, the Hill reported. That’s when they noticed someone had cut down a tree to block their exit.
Fortunately, a group of Forks High School students called the police and used chainsaws to cut the trees so the family could leave.
While their bus broke down on the way out, police helped fix it so the family could leave safely.
