Grays Harbor County offering grants to small businesses impacted by shutdowns

Grays Harbor County Commissioners have approved $500,000 in funding through the federal CARES Act for Small Business Grant applications for businesses financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Qualifying businesses are eligible for a grant of up to $10,000 as reimbursement for the costs of business interruptions and restrictions caused by required closures. Eligible applicants must be a business operating in Grays Harbor County, with no more than 50 full time employees. Businesses that have no more than than 25 full time employees will receive an eligibility preference. Businesses must show they were negatively impacted by the coronavirus shutdown, according to the grant application from Grays Harbor County's official website.

There are three deadlines for applications for three funding cycles: July 6 by 12 p.m.; July 20 by 12 p.m.;  Aug. 3. by 12 p.m. The county urges applicants to apply as soon as possible because applications will be reviewed and ranked in order of submission, according to their website.

The grant application and all required documents can be submitted by mail or in person at the Commissioners Office, which is located at 100 W. Broadway Suite 1, Montesano, WA, 98563.
