A Florida-based company said that it provided $55,500 to nonprofits based in Washington and Oregon to help address community needs.

The grants are from Rayonier, which is based in Yulee, Florida. Thirty-four nonprofits in the two states will split the $55,500.

“These organizations provide vital support to kids, families and those in need across our communities,” Western Forest Resource Director Bill Monahan said, KXRO News Radio reported

The grants will support civic, cultural, educational, environmental, natural resources and health and human services programs at the nonprofits, KXRO News Radio reported.

The local recipients include Connections, Family Promise of Grays Harbor, Dispute Resolution Center of Grays Harbor, Grays Harbor Youth Works, Hoquiam Association for Kids, Coastal Harvest, Hoquiam Beautification and two others,  KXRO News Radio reported.

The Florida-based company plains to provide $310,000 in grant funding to nonprofits nationwide in 2020,  KXRO News Radio reported. The company estimated that 20% of those funds would benefit nonprofits in Washington and Oregon.
