A lease extension with the Port of Port Angeles is being considered by Clallam County commissioners for the COVID-19 Social Distancing Center.
The meeting of the commissioners was held virtually and can be viewed here, Peninsula Daily News reported.
The proposal suggests keeping the building through May 31 with a rent of $15,000 per month, the Peninsula Daily News reported in December. The center currently gives the county's homeless population a place to safely physical distance.
During the meeting, commissioners also discussed agreements for the Social Distancing Center with Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic, an agreement with the state Department of Corrections for temporary suspension of felons and a request for 2021 behavioral health grants.
A weekly work session will be held next Monday at 9 a.m., according to Peninsula Daily News and will be discussing the authorization of the 2021 expenditures for the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund.
