Description:
PC Jazz Ensemble’s “Summer Quarter Concert” will take place on Thursday, August 18, at 7:00 pm in Peninsula College’s Maier Performance Hall, under the direction of Dr. David P. Jones.
The concert will feature Robbin Eaves on vocals and an eight-piece jazz band.
The band will play a wide variety of music with compositions by Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Clifford Brown, Vincent Youmans, and the Average White Band, as well as two world premieres by Jones.
The performers in this band represent some of the very best jazz that the North Olympic Peninsula has to offer. From Port Angeles are Richard “Doc” Thorson (tenor sax), Jim Bradbury (trumpet/flugelhorn), Max Larsen (bass), Marge Rosen (drums), Kevin MacCartney (percussion) and Jones (keyboards/director). Sequim residents include Dan James (trumpet), and Jeff Dingle (trombone), while John Adams (alto sax & bass clarinet) hails from Port Townsend.
COVID vaccinations, masking, and social distancing are optional but encouraged at Peninsula College.
The event is free and open to the public.
