Temperatures next week may be in the upper 80s into the 90s. Prepare before the heat arrives by making a plan to stay cool.

Plan Ahead:

-Stay hydrated and limit time outdoors.

-Fans may provide some comfort, but when the temperatures are above the 90s, they will not prevent heat-related illness. Fans only push the air around. During extreme heat, they

can make the room hotter.

-Consider installing a window or portable air conditioner and designate a cooling room in your home.

-Avoid using the oven to keep temperatures down in your home.

Staying Cool:

-Taking a cool shower or bath, or moving to an air-conditioned place is a great way to cool off. Extra towels are good to have as well to wet down with cold water and wear around

your neck.

– Research where cooling locations are close to your home and determine where you will go if your home gets too hot.
